LA FASHION WEEK by Stefanie photos by Lenore

From Paris to New York and now to Los Angeles, the beauty of fashion proves to come in many forms—classy and couture, high-class and glamourous, tasteful and grunge-y. Box Eight’s Fall Season strayed away from the typical theatrical stage and orchestra seats and welcomed fashion into the L.A. scene of its own home—Box Eight Factory. It gave a backstage perspective for fashion lovers to experience models, designers, photographers, and backdrops firsthand. Among the designs and designers were Lloyd Klein shot by Luke Duval, Corpus shot by Patrick Hoelck, Louis Verdad shot by Don Flood, FACTORY by Erick Hart shot by Ben Cope, and Rami Kashou shot by Garret Suhrie. In the first room, there was a balance between Klein’s classy gowns and Corpus’s simple use of camera flashes as props. The gallery held Hoelck’s tall and slender models dressed in detailed designs and Verdad’s scantily cladded models wrapped beautifully in cords. The overall feng shui of the Factory perfectly demonstrated L.A. life, style, and variety. Hosted by the Box Eight family—headed by Peter Gurnz—the event was altogether unique and World Class Youth appreciates the opportunity of a lifetime.

“It’s hard to describe Box Eight’s Fall 2009 Fashion Week in one word, but if I had to it would be eye-opening! It was a very up-close and personal event. As a Fashion Week first-time attendee, I had expected runways and a lot of sitting down. Instead it was a free roaming event where people could walk from set to set and enjoy each of the photographers and designers. Models were, of course, beautiful and talented and the DJ’s upbeat music put everyone in an energetic mood. And the free Monsters were also a hit!” - Johnny Clavery
